Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think adding a fountain is a fantastic idea to help eliminate some noise my wife finds annoying.

Nice video. My neighbor has an pool and the pump is just under the side we slept. It makes a lot of noise. I just wondering if you tell if a wood fence would help. Thank you

My neighbor plays his music all day almost everyday and I've built a wood fence which I'm going to put Mass loaded vinyl on it. It's 9 ft tall so I'm hoping it works. In the meantime I use an outdoor fan which is like white noise which does a good job of mitigating most of it

Great content. Thank you!!

I’m conspiring building up our fence from 6 ft to 9 feet incorporating mass loaded vinyl. Would love to see if someone had done this to block road noise and how effective it is. Currently, our fence has many gaps in between the boards and does not do much to block road noise.

How does a concrete/cinder block wall compare to a brick wall? Thanks

How does a dirt mound compare to a wood or rock wall? It would be thicker (at least at the bottom) and the angle at which sound waves hit it might direct them upwards. I don't think I can build over 6 feet where I am. So perhaps a combination raised dirt mound and them a rock wall on top?

Got a 160 feet - 6 feet fence wall owned by the county. Would a corrugated metal fence up to 8 feet tall help? Should the MLV still be on the wood fence or the metal fence? We have trees planted 7 feet away that will fill it up in the next 6-7 years.

What about gabion dance wall? Won’t an irregular shape of stones stuck together be better?

which seal do you recommend for wood gaps extending during cold seasons. i have used acrylic caulks before failed multiple times due to caulk lines cracking through the middle or wood surface contacts areas

Would a wall of thick dimmed glass work as well or better than a wooden fence ? reason for asking is living in a very hot/humid place and wood will decay in no time.. and we dont have space for a brick wall

Do you have any ideas for quieting barns? We’re trying to quiet livestock, including roosters.

Watching this on my half acre back yard as a train rolls by. 🤦. We are going to do a 6 ft final fence. We removed about 8 trees on the lot because they were dead (old water oaks) and now the noise is worse. Adding a fence, a few trees on the back of the property closest to the tracks and adding an inground pool with a water feature - should all help correct? Does an inground pool soak up and block ground vibrations?

Thank you for video, it's very useful. Could you please suggest me some plant types (as "living fence"). I am sure it's the best if the plant is evergreen and as dense as possible, but maybe you have experience which particular type
is the best for this purpose.
