In this video, we’re going to talk about the parathyroid glands.

There are four parathyroid glands, which are located behind the thyroid glands in your neck.

The parathyroid glands control calcium in the body. It allows you to have a precise level of calcium in your blood. Too much or too little calcium in your blood can cause numerous health issues.

Your parathyroid can even pull calcium from your bones to maintain normal calcium levels in your blood.

A malfunction of the parathyroid glands can cause your body to pull too much calcium from your bones, causing issues like osteopenia, osteoporosis, bone fractures, bone pain, and hypercalcemia (too much calcium in your blood).

Hypercalcemia can cause high blood pressure, atrial fibrillation, palpitations, kidney stones, tiredness, memory problems, and GERD.

Parathyroid issues may also result in hypocalcemia (low calcium in your blood).

Tumors on parathyroids can be caused by numerous toxins, including aluminum, ozone, fungicides, herbicides, and pesticides.

You can support healthy parathyroid glands by consuming plenty of cruciferous vegetables, avoiding GMO and non-organic foods, and going on a healthy keto diet.

YES! Could you please do a video on thyroid cancer, hypocalcemia, and the body's function post thyroidectomy? Not many doctors speak of this and you're doing us such a great service doing so.

Because of this video I had a parathyroid removed by surgery and it has changed my life for the better. Thank you Dr. Berg.

Wow, thank you for opening my mind to understanding my own body and the illnesses I face.
I watched older relatives face sickness and death, the feelings of powerlessness were horrible, but now I'm feeling empowered as I reach my late 50s and the problems faced by those missed. Perhaps now, my grandchildren will not have to grow up wishing I was still alive.

Thank you Dr. Berg. I had hypercalcemia and was diagnosed with hyperparathyroid. I had 2 of my 4 parathyroid glands removed. Now
I use the knowledge you provide to keep my remaining glands (and the rest of me!) healthy by eating foods that protect and really feed
my body. God Bless you and your family Dr Berg.

I wish our GPs would consider whole body when diagnosing and treating health issues. I've had many symptoms listed in this video and it was only last week that my doctor requested that blood test to check my thyroid levels. My parathyroid levels are high and I have an ultrasound appointment tomorrow.

I had tumors on ALL of my parathyroid glands, for 22.5 years, which caused severe Osteoporosis, so they all had to be removed. My Endocrinologist prescribed Forteo (synthetic PTH daily injection), but it can only be used for up to 2 years. What do I do to improve my bone health when I have to stop taking Forteo???

Thank you again. I've just been diagnosed with primary hyperparathyroidism so I am doing research to see the causes and what I can do naturally to help my symptoms.

This video is 4 years old. Is there any update or a new study made on the issue? Anybody here heard of any improvement in the parathyroids after keto diet?
Thank You 🙏

Can you please do a video on hypocalcemia? I am looking for more insight on that. Also, how does this relate to the adrenals?

Hi Dr Berg! I'm surprised that u didn't mention that phosphoric acid in soft drinks, among other beverages, can trick the parathyroid glands into leaching calcium out of the bones, or so I thought I read somewhere! I truly think that others should know this, ie, if it's indeed the case! Perhaps u should do a video on this?

I have one of my parathyroids enlarged a little bit and I’m scheduled for a surgery. I am on a keto diet for about a week and already started feeling better overall. So I just emailed the surgeon to delay the operation so I can do more tests after doing keto for couple months and see if it changed anything.
