Francia Raisa and Selena Gomez were living together when Gomez learned that she needed a kidney transplant due to her struggles with lupus. Francia jumped at the chance to be her donor.

Actually she had no choice but to say yes, Selena asked her if she could do a test to find out if she’s a macht, when the results came the first person to know was Selena she directly called her and told her we’re a match, so she had no choice but to say yes. The doctors telling Selena first isn’t even legal and right.

It’s scary donating organs like that. I have no issue donating part of my liver, seeing as it grows back. But a kidney. I know you have two and that you can love with only one. But what if one of my kidneys will fail in the future? Then I would’ve donated the one that could’ve saved my own life…

I highly doubt Selena would do the same thing for her. I don't hate Selena, I'm just saying. I don't think she deserved to get a kidney faster than anyone else waiting for one and i dont believe the situation was fair to Francia. She should have been told she was a match before Selena was told so she could fully consider it without all the pressure.
It wasn't just pressure from Selena, she would have been known to the world as the girl who didnt help Selena. Her career would be over, she'd be harrassed...she essentially had no choice in the whole matter

Look, as a Lupus nephritis patient myself since the age of 12 (I'm 52 now and just now going on dialysis and looking for a transplant, it's great her friend did this. Just an FYI, even if you aren't a match, you can still donate you kidney (you would have no issues living with one kidney as your kidneys don't even need to work at 100% and you usually don't even know you have a kidney issue until your kidneys are operating at less than 25%, unless other health issues are involved), they now do what's called a swap. You donate your nonmatching kidney to someone else and the person you donated for gets the next matching organ. Pretty cool.

I always hear these psycho fans of Selena’s in the comment sections (usually obsessing over her and Justin’s childhood relationship and swearing they are still in love 😂 denial at its finest) talking about how Selena is the nicest most humble person in the world yet I’m always thinking about how she treated her donor. Anyone can appear the way they want when they know they are being watched, hello she is a freaking actress so she is use to playing a part but there is zero excuses to how she cut off her friend and literal person who saved her life. I know for a fact that if someone did that for me or someone I loved than would do no wrong in my eyes. Nothing they could do would be unforgivable or a reason for me to cut them off after they saved my life. I always wonder where Selena’s bestie, Taylor was when she needed a kidney. She is another celebrity with a fan base who pretends to know everything about her and swears she is the sweetest most kind hearted person (fake is more like it) yet she didn’t offer even though it would have made more sense because of their close friendship.

I sometimes wish Selena should have gone through months long process to realize how precious that one kidney can be.
