Excellent comparison. What it confirms is the Air 2 ‘s memory is where most of the slowdown comes from. 2GB is barely sufficient for browsing Amazon etc, and so its not so much CPU but that it is likely swping memory to the internal storage constantly, as you scroll down and it can not hold all those pictures in memory.

The new iPad’s 3 GB isn’t a massive jump but likely makes all the difference. 1 extra GB is gonna remove a lot of stutter and swapping when browsing.

It is the only reason why I’m consideting replacing my Air 2 otherwise for surfing, reading it is still very good. I bought mine in 2016 too, while it came out in 2014. That’s 6+ years of use for me already!

Another reason to get 9th gen iPad is the AIR is now hugely expensive, the proce jump from iPad to AIR is wayyy higher than it used to be. shame on Apple :(.

It would’ve been nice to have some dialogue. If I wanted to listen to music I would play it on my Apple Music. This is not helpful.
