How much do people really change?

I am a firm believer people can change, I changed. But they need to want it for themselves. Nobody can beg or force them into it. And even then it might not happen. I only was able to by the grace of God 👐

I think that when the government knows the psychology of people better than the people do, then place laws making rational human behavior that goes against their agenda illegal, the laws themselves are illegal

Change takes effort, but most people seek the path of least resistance.

By natural principles, this is true. But, God's grace is the "wild card" that allows for real change to take place, and it's not uncommon.

As people really only improve at the things they practice, the inevitable outcome of refusing to evolve one's choices would be literally to live a life of reaction to past events rather than current ones.

Yes you're right people are always learning and growing and changing, but the core remains the same, usually the core is established by 5 years old

People change, but the longer they go without being required to change, the less they will change in the future. So, those who are willing to change repeatedly as necessary when young generally become people who continue changing in a positive direction when older. But those who do not cultivate self-reflection doom themselves to a life of blind narcissism, and are extremely unlikely to ever change for the better.

From my perspective in my life and the way things have gone, being an individual who has changed dramatically multiple times and currently existing has basically the opposite of who I used to be in every single way I would say my experience has taught me that I am a very very rare anomaly and would totally agree 100% most people do not change.. and if you change because of something or somebody else you're almost 100% guaranteed to become a resentment to those who you thought loved you and will never get acknowledgment or approval from those whom you've changed for and most people will never see the changes in you or acknowledge you if you grow as a person.. it is very likely that if you transform yourself in order to become a better person and legitimately achieve those results you will alienate and isolate yourself and lose everybody

Radical change requires a radical situation to initiate it. Something that forces a person to adapt/change/evolve or they won't survive.
How anyone can think it happens any other way is to lack knowing how human minds work.
There are few exceptions to this. People can change simply by wanting to be better than they are, but very few actually do.

Totally agree. People can change radically, but it's extremely difficult and doesn't happen in the vast majority of cases.
