Dashcam: Police chase shooting suspect against one-way traffic through downtown Kalamazoo

A Portage man led Michigan State Police on a 10-minute chase from Comstock Township through downtown Kalamazoo on April 15, 2021.

The chase went the wrong way through Kalamazoo’s busy one-way streets.

The suspect, Jeremy Thrasher, 22, was wanted for an April 13 shooting. He crashed his vehicle on North Park Street and fled on foot, before he was caught and arrested.

He is awaiting a preliminary examination and faces multiple felony charges related to the shooting and chase.

And to think, it all could have been avoided if the police knew how to properly block a vehicle. Police don't need APC's or military equipment, they need better training.

I used to live in Kzoo not far from Charles Street. I still recognize a lot of the places after 20 years away. Stay safe officers, you do a fine job.

PS...looked his name up online and he is a white person, lots of wrong interaction with law enforcement. He is no good and I hope he goes away for a long time.
