Fun fact. He was meant to have way more medals for historical accuracy but they decided not to as people wouldn’t have seen it as believable

Fun fact: He had more medals than that in real life. They took some off for the film. Look up his picture lol

Quite possibly the best character introduction in cinematic history

zhukov just gives off the exaggerated swagger of a Field Marshal

Apparently the Russian public thought Zhukov came off as "buffoonish." Whereas Western audiences thought he was the best part of the film.

my favourite detail here is the jacket is part of a Soviet Service uniform, while he's wearing full dress. There's no reason for him to be wearing the jacket, other than to throw it off dramatically, which, let's face it, is something this character would totally do.

*EDIT:* Also I just realised nobody reacts to Zukov's entrance as out-of-the-ordinary, meaning this is a common thing. This is just how he enters rooms.

I quite sure that despite not looking at all like Zhukov Jason Isaacs was a perfect choice for the role. He was just perfect.

Unlike most generals nowadays, those medals on Zhukov's uniform aren't fancy decoration to show off to the public and politicians. He's earned every piece of it.

Zhukov's Medals basically covered up his entire torso

If I was Zuhkov, I would be damn pleased that I get one of the greatest entrances in film history.

Zhukov was Field Marshall. The only man who outranked him was Stalin, who gave himself rank of Marshall Of Soviet Union. Which is Supreme Commander Of Soviet Armed Forces, a CINC. Soviet Army and Soviet Frontal (tactical) Aviation, reported to him. As did all Warsaw Pact client state armed forces. Navy, strategic aviation, strategic rocket forces, NKVD/KGB, anything nuclear reported to Stalin directly. Zhukov of head of STAVKA, Soviet General Staff. Unlike MidEast, African, South American, North Korean despots and generals, with gaudy uniforms full of decorations and awards, Zhukov earned every piece of tin on his tunic. Dating to his service in Tzar's Cavalry during WWI, then As Bolshevik Cavalry officer, then Soviet General who defeated Japanese in Mongolia, finally defeating Wehrmacht on Eastern Front, and conqueror of Berlin.

When you enter a room KNOWING that you have the biggest pair of brass ones on earth... and don't have to prove it.
That's Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov.
And how big were they? He frequently, both privately and in public, was NOT afraid to contradict Stalin. He frequently said no, too, whenever Stalin suggested something boneheaded militarily.
So why didn't Stalin get rid of him? Zhukov was incredibly competent as a general. He is regarded as one of the best there was.
It also helped that he scared the shit out of Stalin. And that is NOT an exaggeration, either!

i tried that, but it was a lot more awkward since I had no medals, had no slow motion and my coat fell on the floor
