I hope the sides of the console will be like the Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons, where you can use different color combinations.

Imagine having one side of the PS5 being blue, and the other side being red.
Or one side being dedicated to a specific game, while the other side is dedicated to a completely different game.

I actually doubt that this is an organically detachable component, I think it's simply a case of the part hasn't yet been attached to the console itself
Because I genuinely fail to see how you can organically detach the panel that also contains the disc drive and swap it out for another one
Plus, even if that's somehow the case, the controller will still need to be sold and swapped out for a different colour than the one that comes with the pack you've chosen

I personally love the white :) I am all about embracing the change. As consoles and controllers have been black for ever I'm all about the white I think it looks clean and it's something different ☺️

I don’t think this means that they’re going to be selling the side plates separately for any customer to simply change on the spot. Because think about where the disc drive is on the standard edition. We couldn’t simply be detaching and attaching that kind of hardware, could we? While it may work for the digital edition, do you think they would make this a digital edition only feature, where you could pop off and switch you side plates whenever? Idk
