Reverse engineering is the process of taking apart one thing, learning how it’s made, and then replicating it on your own. It very much is still made from scratch and can me created as many times as needed. Bulma in the future made a Time Machine, she could have also made the space ship again

Considering Future Bulma made a freaking time machine, I think she could make a spaceship.
Also, once the ship was done, King Kai could've psychically given Bulma and Trunks the coordinates to New Namek. Or, even better, he could've just told Moori himself to gather the Dragon Balls to make the clean-up wishes after the Androids were dealt with.
King Kai has far-seeing arts and psychic telecommunication. And as a Kai he supposedly cares about mortals and observes them. So unless he stopped caring and stopped watching what happens on Earth, New Namek should have been an available option to Trunks and Bulma.

whats wild to me is that the Kai's never stepped in to stop the Androids. especially since there was time travel involved and goku had a personal relationship with North Kai

you'd think they would step in, take care of the androids and point trunks in the right direction for namek but they were oddly absent until Buu happened

Any argument goes out the window when you remember dead people can communicate with the living. King Kai could have radioed the elder on new namek and fixed everything. It’s hard to avoid plot holes in a series where death is irrelevant because of magical wish granting dragons and nosey deities.

Even if, for whatever reason, King Kai wouldn't tell trunks where it is in his timeline, why didn't trunks ask when he was in the past? Goku is right there! Heck, he could've taught Trunks instant transmission, and showed trunks how to get to King Kai's world! There are so many ways Trunks has to find out in the past that it just aggravates me at times.
