The challenge of real spirituality which is relatable in my culture as others also about our ancestors is respectfully written and shared by this passionate writer and director who takes you on a spiritual and self searching journey about ones true existence. Be prepared to see film like no other. Great movie!

I'm so proud of the quality put into The Stranger. The movie pacing is slow at times and I wanted even more character development, but arc of the story, especially understanding the spiritual side of the Hmong culture...is very impactful.

A beautiful film that begins as a simple story but develops into a harrowing journey of life that mirrors the harrowing journey so many Hmong made across the Mekong. Bryan Vue has called on his early experiences to tell stories through film that reflect the struggles that so many Hmong people went through to secure a safe setting for them and their families. Working with a small budget while employed full-time, Vue has managed to blend his story-telling and directing to create a film that is true to his roots. He has made a movie that can help younger Hmong learn about the sacrifices made, older Hmong remember those sacrifices, and others appreciate the strength and beauty of the Hmong cultlure. As "The Stranger" progresses, the story winds and curves and leads the viewer on a curious path and does not disappoint. A film that is well worth seeing, with hopes that Vue will continue his own creative journey.

I took my college students on a field trip to watch "The Stranger" and to my surprise, my students love the aspect of how this film is done by Hmong American and it explores great Hmong cultural value and history in it. This movie tackles a new Hmong American story and experience growing up in the US. This movie will keep you guessing and wondering what is going until the very end. I had a great and thoughtful class discussion with my students after watching this Film! Keep telling our stories, they deserved to be heard!

This was a great film! It introduces spiritual and life concepts unique to Hmong and survivors of war. If you appreciate understanding different perspectives, I highly recommend you watch the movie. The film was professional and great to view on the big screen. I urge Mr Bryan Vue to bring us more untold stories in the future.
