You forgot to mention a big factor which is (was) cheap energy from Russia. All this manufacturing uses a lot of energy and dirt cheap energy from Russia allowed Germany to grow quickly. Now that cheap energy from Russia is gone, Germany is concerned with just keeping warm during winter. I perdict a sharp decline in Germany's economy in the years to come if they do not get back to Russian energy. Another reason for Germany's growth is cheap labor from refugees. Germany's population was on a steep decline which was huring its manufacturing due to shortage of workers, but Germany has taken in more refugees and any other EU country and put them to work in the factories which helped them drive growth. The rest of your analysis I agree with, German made products are looked at as high quality compared to other countries even in the EU.
