Kana eyes is an galaxy eyes which is related to star eyes and we saw abiko had the same eye in the manga and star eyes also represent lies while galaxy eyes represent truth, so what she said was an truth that she wants to become aqua star. it is theorized that the star eyes mean lies, while kana’s galaxy eyes represent true motives. as ai lied most of her life, she always showed star eyes. however, as she was dying when she told ruby and aqua she loved them, the stars disappeared. when akane imitates ai, she gains star eyes because it is a lie. when she goes back to her true self, they go away. this proves thats star eyes mean lies.

however, when kana says. “i’m gonna be your star!” she displays galaxy eyes. this is because her motives are true, and she actually wants to be aqua’s star.
