I want to give the poor guy a washcloth and some soap. 😔

How I convinced Nere to abandon the Absolute cult.

Tav: It's a shadowy conspiracy headed by tax collectors.
Nere: Those wretched beasts!

He still has the tadpole. The second he moves out of range of the prism, he'll be back under the Absolute's control.

I love how he starts talking like a normal humanoid the moment you block the absolute instead of refering to himself in 3rd person. He's still in deep shit tho, betraying Lolth? My man is gonna be sprouting few spider legs if he won't die horribly first.

I've done like seven playthroughs and I don't think I've ever actually sided with Nere in order to see if things were different.

They should've made Nere a character you can recruit for evil characters...would be a nice replacement for losing Wyll and Karlach

I kinda feel for him, similar to Minthara, the guy was manipulated by Loth, then the Absolute after. Unlike Minthara unfortunately there is no saving him. Pity really, I feel he could’ve been an excellent ally.

The Moment he leaves your party he goes right back into OBEY mode 🤣🤣🤣

Much like normal DND campaigns, you run into many NPC's you want to adopt into your party but the DM knows better than to give you them all.

NERE definetly should have been an optional companion in evil runs!

This game is full of surprises. So many different outcomes. Also, love your Tav.

Always learn something new about this game! It’s a shame that Nere has toe die, I’m not upsetting Sovereign. I like my psychedelic Mushroom homies more than him 🤷🏻‍♀️

the actor that plays him also plays elger’nan in dragon age veilguard, and has such a knack for this type of roles :, ) thank you for showing the full scenes, it’s so nice seeing more of his performance here

Not a dagger +1 one! Nere you shouldn't have! No really...you shouldn't have...

I love "it's a shadowy conspiracy headed by mind flayers and... tax collectors" because it feels like such a Disco Elysium-ass line that gives you 1 point towards ultraliberal. Especially the ellipses that makes it seem like "tax collectors" is the main focus and not the brain-eating squid people.

how exactly does he plan to leave the absolute?

the second he leaves your company, he will simply be controlled again.

1000 hours and I've never once seen any of this dialogue. This game truly amazes me with how much there is, behind decisions I wouldn't think to make.

In theory, saving Nere just causes more death. He still has a tadpole in his head and won't be anywhere close to the character's sphere of protection in the final act. So, like all the other infected, Nere will transform into a mind flayer during the final act and likely try to kill everyone around him. The only "good option" is to side with the uninfected Duergar mercenaries, kill Nere, and convince the Duergar to leave the Deep Gnome behind.

All I want for Christmas is Nere as a companion.

I needed his head so I could be named Peace-bringer

With the depth they gave his character I’m surprised they don’t give you an option to save both him and the gnomes
