Kenny Loggins tells the story of House at Pooh Corner. A song Kenny wrote when he was only 16 years old! Disney's lawyers blocked the song from being recorded and he was devastated until later that night when he was telling the girl he was dating about his bad luck and she said oh well let me talk to my dad. Kenny then realized he was dating the CEO of Disney and they let his song come out. It became a 70s classic.

This song healed a grieving, broken heart. Every time I hear it, I thank God for Kenny Loggins and his gift for helping me through a dark, difficult time.

I checked on Kenny before this. He said "I'm alright."

Man, Kenny Loggins is the best! I played house on Pena for my young nephew when he was like four years old. For many many years when I would come home for the holidays, I made sure to play that song for my nephew. He grows up and he decides to get married. He comes to me and he says uncle all I want is for you to play my song. And I knew he meant House on Pooh corner so I worked up a version for piano and played it at the appropriate time during the marriage ceremony. I happen to glance down at my older brother And his wife and my nephew and the tears were streaming down their faces. I got so choked up that almost couldn’t finish the song. All of a sudden, I found myself in a different key entirely, but I have been taught don’t ever ever stop playing even if you make a mistake no one will really ever notice so I ended up doing a little solo piano and an entirely different key, and then figure out a way to get back to my original key. And then finish the song. That’s a very fun memory for me fun and fond. Somebody mentioned that this doesn’t really look like Kenny, and it really doesn’t. I wonder if he’s had any plastic surgery or whether this is just his natural look after putting on a few pounds or what have you. Those albums he made, like sitting in with Jim Messina was so so good.

I am a journalist and when I started out on my college daily I was entertainment editor. I interviewed Kenny Loggins back then, and 40 years and hundreds of interviews later, he remains the nicest guy I ever interviewed..
The same night I talked to Loggins I interviewed Stevie Nicks (KL was on the same touri as Fleetwood Mac). She remains the snottiest person I ever interviewed.

In the late seventies I had the enormous pleasure to see a Kenny Loggins concert at Villanova University.
The concert had so little information attached to its announcement that my friend had to call the radio station she heard it on to find out where and when it would be taking place.

After the first few songs, Kenny started singing “House at Pooh Corner, ” clearly an audience favorite. Suddenly, from out of the stage wing, Winnie the Pooh “himself” shuffled onstage. There was utter pandemonium in the audience! Kenny started looking around to see what the noise was all about, and when he spotted Winnie he stopped playing and started laughing. There was no doubt that he was completely surprised, but he confirmed that by telling us that and saying, “No one’s ever done that to me before!”

This was a spectacular event; my all time favorite concert that I’ll never forget!

Donn Tatum was the Disney CEO who released the song to Kenny. He was the first non-Disney family member to lead the company. He guided CalArts for many years.

Song brings tears to my eyes every time! I watched Winnie the Pooh on the Wonderful World of Disney while growing up and have read (and own) The Complete Winnie the Pooh by A.A. Milne. I discovered this song a few years before my son was born and loved it then, but when I was able to sing it for my little boy, I cried. And I cry every time I remember that moment. Winnie the Pooh is so much a part of my life and always will be! Thank you, Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina for a song that encompasses, embraces, and honors my childhood!

I love wtp. I love the song. I named my first born, a son, Christopher after C. Robin. I knew I would wander much further "these days" than I "should" and can't "make" my way back to the green wood. I helped bring wtp to Disney. I'm also known as John P. Disney....Walt's grandson inlaw. I ❤️ Loggins & Messina. Good luck guy.
