Define what is accessible, or more importantly what is non-discriminatory access to premises or services?
Accessible is more than just wheelchair accessible, far from it in fact!
Does it address the following disability conditions:
-Physical: wheelchair users, ambulant, amputees, etc.
-Intellectual: autism, down syndrome, etc.
-Psychiatric: schizophrenia, depression, etc.
-Sensory: hearing, vision, touch
-Neurological: epilepsy, acquired brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, MS
-Learning disabilities: dyslexia, dyscalculia, dysgraphia
-The presence in the body of disease-causing organisms – hepatitis, aids, etc.
Who defines a property is wheelchair accessible? So there is a ramp, does the gradient comply or is it safe? Does the carpark comply, size, gradients/ crossfalls comply? Is there an accessible path of travel from public transport, what makes an accessible toilet compliant? A sign? How will laypeople know if everything in it complies ie in Australia a toilet audit includes 38 elements.
Simply asking a layperson, is this building accessible is drought with danger and liability.
This has disaster written all over it.

So "local guides" please share right information on Google map

It would be important to know the protocol to decide what type of accessibility exists in each building, each person is different from others, if you do not know how accessibility is assessed, it is not clear if every one of us can access, it is not important to be if accessible or not: it is very important to know HOW to access so that every person with disabilities can evaluate whether they can access or not with their potential

We want the edit and create feature returned again like the old days, I'm as one of the contributor since 2010 have difficulties to edit or add things from roads to places on Google Maps now. The process took forever. We as a ride haling driver really need to edit things fast if there's something wrong on the maps that doesn't match the real location or names.

This should of been a thing years ago! I just hope people that report 'accessible' places actually know what they are talking about! I have a 10 year old wheelchair dependant son and almost 90% of places state they are accessible but are far from it! I hope there is some way to verify that the property is actually accessible before it is put on Google maps!

Why Google doesn't understand you / OR bad information is worse than none

Why do we think it can't work this way?
We know from experience that almost every hotelier thinks he has a barrier-free hotel. In fact, most restaurants think that a wheelchair user can get to them. I mean, not really. Outside there is a small stair, there are 60cm door to the toilet etc. But otherwise perfect place.

The easy clickability of a barrier-free item without understanding the difference between a suitable and inappropriate ramp inclination, the width required to enter the wheelchair and the benefits provided by folding toilet handles is actually even worse than when information is completely missing and the visitor remains cautious.

The degree of disappointment and anger will probably be similar to situation if Google write you that there isn't heavy traffic on the way to the meeting and the weather will be beautiful. But you arrive an hour later due to the traffic jam and total wet from the rain. Next time you will find another source.

If I had to advise Google (and I know they're not waiting for it), the first thing MUST be to add a photo if I claim something is barrier-free. The second would be filtering through individual aspects of accessibility, because I don't need a barrier-free room if I'm just going to eat at a restaurant near the hotel where I don't live (ie separate entrance, separate accommodation). In a Google promo video, he presents help for seniors with walkers and wheelchair users. But you only need a barrier-free entrance to use the walker, you can already use the toilet. While the wheelchair-user needs wheelchair access to toilets. And spectrum filtering is one solution.
And in order to believe it all, I would appreciate the information, who entered the parameter? Is it based on powerchair/active chair user rating? Or was someone just active and "thought" that THIS is barrier-free. There are a thousand questions, and Google has chosen the worst path. Exactly the one chosen in the past by those who mark the objects with the green, orange and red marks.

This has failed Google and is a step backwards. Try to look at www.VozickarMAP.info, where we have chosen a different approach.

What's going on with Google maps? I uploaded several 360 photos in March 2020 via the street view app, but most of the photos don't appear on google maps. The photos that appear are all wrong, even if the connection made in the street view app is correct. Through the google maps community, you can't ask any more questions. Those that exist cannot comment further. End of support for this tool?
.

Can't seem to find the accessible places under settings? Is this an anticipated upcoming feature that has not been implemented yet?

To encourage places to accommodate special needs, it would be helpful to introduce accessibility scoring.
