Logitech Streamcam vs Logitech C920 - which webcam is better?

This is a video to compare the Logitech Streamcam with the classic but ageing Logitech C920. Both great cameras, both 1080p capable but is the new one any good?

The Logitech C920 is roughly half the price of the Streamcam, but it's also not as good looking and doesn't have the same specs.

Thanks for the video. First comparison of webcams that actually show the images captured by the cameras. Great job. It would be good to show the zoom capabilities of both. Zoom is the main reason I am considering upgrading from the camera in the laptop.

On the logi capture, the c920 actually has 60fps option in the camera setting in the logi capture pc software.

My initial thoughts are that the streamcam colour range is better, but you're getting over-saturated. Whereas on the 920, the highlights have been blown out. Where's a histogram when you need one ?!

I have been a 920 user for years now and loved it. Noticing the Streamcam is currently on sale for around £80. Think I might take a punt. I can always sell the 920 eh?

I've had a c920 for years and I had no idea that the rubber pad on the foot is articulated. It really does not look like there is room for a hinge in there. Worth watching the vid just for that revelation.

Curious if you have tried this cam after the various firmware updates that have been released April forward. Haven't seen many videos since the updates were put out there. Interested to see if they have fixed the white blowout/over exposure you can see on most user's foreheads.

I bought a Streamcam because of the current c920 shortage and they were currently the same price. My problem is that my 2015 Macbook Pro doesn't have a USB-C port and I'm struggling to find an adapter that would be able to do the job here. Hopefully there is a kind sole around the comment section who can point me in the direction of an adapter that would make this work for me.

Thank you for the comparison. I have a c920 that I use on my Mac and I have never been able to get it to work properly using iglasses software. What software are you using to make all those adjustments? OBS? Are you using a PC?

Hi can u tell me polease with which program u used? i would like to know how u get your background dark. Also please tell me if u used obs is there any possibility to change the output for example mirroring from left to right/ right to left?

Can this camera be mounted onto a regular tripod meant for DSLRs and mirrorless cameras? Does it have that female mounting threads where a tripod's mount screw can fit in?

I have a C920 and my issue with it is it really overexposes my face. I have a window to my right in the office, so the right side of my face is basically one bright light. I can't really change all the lighting in this room just to accommodate for the webcam. It looks fine with other cameras (phone, laptop) but horrible with the C920. Is the streamcam better in that sense?
