I’m from North Brazil and as a kid my mother would let me swim in a river notoriously known for piranhas, saying “You not bleeding anywhere right? Yeah you will be fine.”

1.Don’t swim and stay still
2.Don’t scream for help and make noise
3.Don’t go towards the shore go further into deep water and stronger currents
4. Be nice and wear thick gloves and shoes so they can get to your juicy bits faster
