The original members were all in early childhood education, and also in a popular band called The Cockroaches.
Interesting bit of trivia... They came up with their signature finger point /wiggle thing because they were very conscious of where their hands would be in photos with kids, and they wanted them always visible so no one could claim that they touched a kid inapropriately, and they wanted a way to make it clear where their hands were, but for it to not look so obvious that this is what they were doing... So the finger point /wiggle was born.

Not only was it in the TOP 100 - it finished #1 most voted song for the Triple J 100. It was 1) the first cover ever to win the prestigious award 2) first time the Wiggles ever made it into the awards - they finished above acts The Kid LAROI, Justin Bieber, Spacey Jane, Billie Eilish, Gang of Youths, Lil Nas X. The cover by the Wiggles, has out performed the original by Tame Impala who only made it to #7 in 2012

The original wiggles were in an eighties band the Cockroaches they had a hit with She's the One. The Wiggles were born as a part of a Uni assignment as they were studying Early Childhood Education.

You should check out the songs on an album called "ReWiggled". It has the Wiggles covering other bands songs and other bands covering Wiggles songs eg: The Chats sing "Can You (Point Your Fingers and Do The Twist)" while The Wiggles cover The Chats "Pub Feed". There are videos for both clips.

Anthony plays guitar, and also the Bagpipes, he was in the 5/7RAR Pipes and Drums when he was an Infantry Soldier in the Army in the early 80s.
