I bought the "Abbey Road" deluxe box set. Now I'm saving up for the "Let It Be" 50th anniversary onslaught next year. Can't wait.

FYI - The UK always had small holes for 7” 45RPM records. Some companies did issue pop out centres but they were few and far between. By the way, love your videos and your style. Keep up the great work.

The "Strawberry Fields Forever" single is a replica of the Australian single. It has the Aussie catalog number "A8243".

For people who are Non Beatles fans and want to buy this: I totally recommend it. Even for non Beatles Fans. The music is perfect for dancing. It’s totally worth it for the sleeves for history as well!

Hey Geek!
I would love to get this. I read somewhere that the music quality is not amazing, but they are actually mastered from tape. I think it is the actual mastering of the original singles that does not "sound as good" I guess.

My only problem is money, I am from Chile and getting the box + shipping goes for around 300 usd! Even worse, what is currently happening in my country made the USD go higher in price, so in chilean peso it's really really expensive.


Out of the whole box I love "Free as a bird". I've always loved that song and this would be the time to get it on a proper 45.
Talking about special to me, the "I want to hold your hand" I love becuase the cover it has is the classic "With the beatles" picture. It was the single to hit N°1 in the US, which made them actually tour there. And finally because the picture sleeve is a Chilean pressing replica hahaha! which as stated, is where I am from.

One thing I noticed about the box set, “Free as a Bird” and “Real Love” weren’t released together, but the former was b/w “Christmas Time (is Here Again)” while the ladder is b/w a live version of “Baby’s in Black”. I understand why for this box set the two songs were put together, though. It makes sense.

Most 7-in singles in the UK are small hole I thought the reason for the Big Hole is because of jukebox.

"Planning something big for yes, in fact they are. It's going to be monumental, start saving your money. Evidently Paul and Ringo gave Peter Jackson (of Lord of the Rings) all FIFTY FIVE HOURS of complete film and audio of the entire Let It Be sessions to remaster everything and release it ALL! So you have Paul finally giving the ok to show the complete recordings uncut and unedited that goes far beyond the original 1970 movie (for the last 45+ years he's never wanted it released uncut due to all the fighting that was caught on tape). There was also about 20 minutes of the rooftop performance recording that was not on the Let It Be movie so we will see the entire rooftop gig - complete with the policeman pulling the plug on George's amp mid-way through the second performance of Get Back!


It's going to be a multi-disc blu-ray extravaganza. All the uncut footage, AND overseen by the brilliant Peter Jackson. You couldn't ask for more!
