Ive used this video so many times now to build shortblocks I think I owe it to mike to buy him a workbench, or at least a foam kneeguard

Video may be from 2013 but shout out to the camera guy for asking all of the newbie questions. Appreciate the knowledge and clear explanations.

This video should be called "HOW TO REBUILD A SUBARU ENGINE FOR DUMMIES" This is prob one of my favorite engine rebuild videos, giving me confidence to tackle my spun bearing sti engine.

Please do not ever take this video down! It is very useful to the Subaru community. I can just watch this times and times again.

I did 5 engines using this video. They are still running (6 years) as new. Thank you.

I'm so glad the guy behind the camera is asking all those questions

As a v-block guy, it's insane to think about installing the wrist pins after the block is assembled. Very informative stuff.

When I was at uni I would often see (much younger than my older self) people struggling with various concepts. I developed a jam with my lecturer where I would ask what many would call a dumb question that gave him an avenue to explain the question in an equally "dumb", but entirely different way. You could see heads shoot up and nod across the room as people groked on.

I feel that energy between the cameraman and Mike. Asking the "dumb" questions to make sure there is plenty of space to explain a concept. Especially stuff like "in the world of computers, it makes a difference", because despite knowing my way around an engine bay, my IT monkey brain still chirped up with "Are we talking clean room clean? Finger grease on my precious new DIMMs clean?". I learned stuff I didn't even know I needed to know here.

Revolutionary and organic approach gents, I love it.

I am not building a Subaru engine, nor do I have any plan to; in fact, I don't even own a Subaru. But I still watched the whole video all the way through. Excellent job!

Subaru had to be designed by a mechanic. Easiest engine I've worked on after you destroy the first one with ignorance. Good Luck as Always.

Mike the mechanic & the cameraman make the perfect pair for teaching this stuff. Mike knows his shit and the cameraman asks the perfect questions for someone who isn't a mechanic but wants to learn to do it correctly.

What a guy! No garage no shop. Just rebuilding an engine in the side of the road.

My impreza uk turbo had big end bearing failure and after watching these videos my car is now running a built ej207 witch I built myself....I'd never touched an engine before building this one. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us all.
