Kris’s ability to blend chilling facts with just the right amount of humor keeps the content engaging without losing the seriousness of the topic.

29:57 "and i said, 'you SHOT me?!'" i love the incredulous tone she has when she says that. like she's saying "are you for real? you SHOT me? seriously?" what a gal, bless her!

19:46 I’m a Visalia native and there was a Psychology Professor from the local college that was murdered by the Visalia ransacker. From what I know of from just articles and reports, the Professor’s daughter was attacked in the middle of the night and he had woken up and shielded his daughter but ended up dying later in the hospital. His daughter would have been the first victim of the golden state killer if her father didn’t sacrifice himself. RIP Professor Claude Snelling 🤍

my mom caught me watching this and i had to try my best to explain that i just find it interesting. I am really interested in the minds of serial killers and murderers and am thinking about studying criminal psychology but i might get in trouble.

I could listen to Kris talking about serial killers for hours. She always keeps it entertaining and at the same time shines some light on the cases. She needs her own show !!

I'm always excited to see Kris's true crime videos, she's so good at balancing information, humor, and sympathy all at the same time and not enough true crime does that

Personally I think Kris should start a crime podcast because I find it really nice being able to do stuff while listening to this

My moms baby sister was brutally murdered in 1986 in Trenton Michigan right before her 17th birthday. Today is the anniversary of her death, Rose Marie Zoldos. Its still considered a cold case to this day, no one has ever been tried for her murder. The man that did it walked away free due to the lack of resources in the small police department. DNA testing wasn't available yet.
Hopefully one day her case gets the recognition she deserves. This marks 38 years since she was taken from this world too soon. We keep the neswpapers, death report, autopsy and court proceedings in a family photo album and her senior pictures still hang on the walls of my mother's house. My mom says I look like her and my middle name is Rose to commemorate her life 💜

20:55 it’s just so unfair that he got to live a whole life hiding the secret, Marry, kids grandkids, etc..I feel so sorry for his family to live all that time with such a monster. I’d have to reconcile with the fact that they loved him for all those years.

Im so glad you covered the Golden State Killer. He's probably what really got me into true crime because it's insane how he first started with burglary and grew to murder. He taunted his victims even in local meetings the towns had when they were frustrated with this masked man. The amount of victims he claimed for both -drape- and mvrder is insane. I'm also so amazed with how much DNA in the crime world itself has evolved, and so many cold cases are now being solved due to past forensic evidence. I truly believe this killer could've gotten a whole 1 hour episode because this man had no limits, but I'm so grateful you covered this horrible guy's atrocious crimes and undoings

California native here. It was Michelle McNamara, a true crime author and previous wife of comedian Patton Oswald, who essentially solved the Golden State Killer case. Unfortunately she passed away before he was caught and justice was served.

Dear Jay the Editor,
Adding new sound effects of breaking glass & gunshots is fun & atmoapheric; but it's also unnerving when you're home alone watching

The image on the gravestone of the woman holding the little girl's hand and guiding her to heaven has me in tears. I've watched the majority of Kris's videos on serial killers, and little else has been so moving and a punch to the gut, to phrase it lightly, as this was. "May their souls find peace in God's loving care"

I grew up in Sacramento and in 1979 I was 14 years old. The East side Rapist had every woman, & teen girl feeling terrified & unsafe even in their own homes
