Experts are calling for more investment in renewable energy to help curb the country's dependency on fossil fuels in South Africa amid warnings of a looming climate catastrophe. Africa has been responsible for only one percent of global greenhouse gas emissions since the industrial revolution in the 1800s, South Africa is the worst offender. Earth Day presents a unique opportunity for engagement in such topics and putting the spotlight on climate change. The big question is can education help save the planet?
