This was a brilliant story. The whole concept was smart. With our attempts at finding habitable worlds constantly finding planets that are tidally locked, and with very narrow parts that could support life, this story seems less far fetched and more likely to be how the universe is. Thanks. Also, well done on capturing the emotional sense of how this might affect a being that evolved on such a world. I really loved this story 😊❤

Honestly i've seen so many AI fed content farms for these kinds of videos, seeing a human being reading out a coherent story is refreshing

Being able to live on a tidally locked planet baffles me. One side is going to be freezing cold probably on par with our polar regions if not colder and the other side is going to be practically a desert. The only habitable part should be where they connect.

Also good job as usual. You guys are killing it!

This narrator is good. He keeps you interested in the story.

Classic! I love the outside view of something we live with everyday as something freakishly abnormal to visitors. The details of the aliens from unspinning worlds is just... plain... fun! ^_^
As a geezer who's been reading sci-fi for over half a century It feels good, really good to have fresh stories. Thank you Starbound! ^_^

Some of us notice. It can be... interesting. Especially being able to see the moon on a sunny day, when no one else seems to notice.

I enjoyed the vivid description from dusk to sunrise and the coriolis effect on mass.

Getting motion sickness from the rotation of earth, but not from traveling in space ships and shuttles?

A good story is internally consistent.

Thank you for a better story than "Oh, no! Here comes another, bigger, battle!".

I see a variety of comments from people claiming to be able to feel the Earth's rotation. I'm sorry, you're deceiving yourselves. Think of being on an airplane when it's smoothly traveling at a constant speed and constant altitude. You've unbuckled your seatbelt to go on a walk down the aisle, you don't feel the movement of the plane. The reason is simple: You, the plane, and everything else inside it is traveling at the same speed. In order to perceive the movement of the plane, you have to glance at the clouds outside or hit some turbulence.

You can only feel a change in velocity, not constant velocity. It's the same with Earth's rotation. The Earth's velocity isn't changing. If you truly believe you can feel the rotation, find a large warehouse or something indoors, turn off the lights, walk around for a while until you have no frame of reference. Now determine, based on your feelings, east and west. If you succeed you'll be the first.

@21:00 that would be a good sound effect for telepathy or alien translation.

The Coriolis effect would be exacerbated by the sideways pull of the sun's gravity during sunrise and sunset. When the moon is at 90° to the sun, I can sometimes feel the Earth turning when I'm standing on the shore on an island. It's an extremely subtle sensation, but it's there. I've never felt it when standing on the shore of a continent, or among mountains, but I think I've felt it out on the Great Plains here in the US; but it was even more subtle, to the point that I'm not sure I felt it. I suspect it has to do with the homogeneous landscape and the lack of competing masses.

I never thought of it before, but Xenos from tidally locked planets could definitely get motion sickness from that. I imagine their early astronauts wouldn't even notice, since they would be used to things like orbital forces and artificial gravity from spinning stations, but the introduction of genuine artificial gravity would make for a generation of astronauts and scientists unfamiliar with the sensation, even if they know all about it intellectually.

Feels kinda off that the guy would be baffled by rotation since tidally locked doesnt mean no rotation, it just means the rotation is proportional to the orbit just so that one side of the planet is always facing the star

Love the narrator! Love the changing scenes! Just could do without the closed captioning.
