They elevate what "peak human" is in comics, implying that IRL athletes are still in that range but the bar is a bit higher than what we see outside of superheroes.
That could be the case, maybe a 1, 000 pound bench press is actually possible, but unlikely.
Also Batman is all about protecting others from his pain, or helping them through it if they already share it. I don't think Tate's motivations would line up either
