Been here in New Mexico all my life, there's NOTHING like the sunsets and sunrises even in the metro, crime is everywhere you go, Burque born Portales raised ❤️💛❤️💛

I’ve been living in Albuquerque most of my life, and I’m just about fed up with it. It gets worse with time. We have experienced lots of criminal activity here. Our houses have been broken into. Most recently, my brother and his wife’s apartment got broken into. They stole thousands of dollars in cash and other valuable items. When I first moved back from Arizona in 2016, someone smashed my rear windshield on my car the first night I was back. I’m seeing more homeless people on the streets than ever before. There are lots of construction zones that stay up indefinitely. There are homeless people at every major intersection asking for money. It’s starting to look like a third world country here.

So I’m moving out of here in the next few months before the end of this year.

EVERYTHING has stickers, fire ants, 2 seasons: brown and browner. Hot. Tons of roaches-everywhere. Dust on your furniture all the time. Swamp coolers that make your house smell like mildew. Violent gangs. Rocks and cactus. Few trees. Nothing to do, unless you like hiking. 4 years there, and was bored insane.

Indeed, research your neighborhood!!! I know HOA's get a bad rap, but if you want to maintain any kind of property value, you need an HOA in Albuquerque. Get a copy of the CC&R's before you close on a home in an HOA to be sure you're willing to abide by them.

In fairness you may have missed a few items on the ‘can you handle’ list, most people will probably realize this pretty quickly.. however I would like to mention one other item a little less obvious… the drivers!! Unfortunately, NM drivers rate very poorly nationally behind the wheel in a range of categories including DUI, uninsured drivers, confrontational attitude, accidents & injuries (including with pedestrians)..You can verify this information simply with a few Google searches or ask your auto insurance carrier.. Moved here 7 years ago from out of state, retired, and live in Abq.

Have been here 14 years, can't wait to relocate for retirement. The scenery is great, but that is it.

Love Albuquerque, it’s beautiful out here and the people are great. Don’t get caught up with the negativity and the negativity won’t follow you around is my best advice .

I have lived in Albuquerque for 31 years and really like it here. It is really dry compared to the DFW area where I came from. Be prepared to water your garden every day. I have found the people to be polite and friendly, much more so than DFW. The sunshine here is really good for depression. I wish it rained a little more than it does, but I can deal with that. Glad to be here

I don't know New Mexico but I thought you should have mentioned or shown some of what I understand to be the most mystic desert scenery and sunsets. I would think that it's a great place for people who paint or photograph beautiful desert landscapes or just want to wake up to that everyday. I'm guessing that the best views are in the more expensive neighborhoods, but is the better open scenery more outside Albuquerque, or is it seen all around the city.

Lived in Trumbull Park (international district now 🙄) wasn't a bad place until mayor Keller moved the majority of the homeless in that area, so that's one area to avoid, live in westside now, South valley and Barelas very beautiful with the river.
