I've used Voicemeeter as amazing audio mixer for the past few years. Other poular choices like the GoXlr and the GoXlr mini are awesome pieces of equipment, but are very pricey. Give Voicemeeter a shot, it's my favorite audio mixer I have used. Also let me know if you want a video about useful plugins or a tutorial on Voicemeeter!

Voicemeter is truly the free man's tool. But what's been my issue with it over the years was lotsa frustration. It was either confusing enough to take up hours of my time or wasn't compatible with my hardware. Find a way to make it simple to setup and I'd kiss ya. Maybe I'd try it again.

Also check your microphone requirements. If you use a dynamic microphone odds are you won't need a mixer just a cable that goes from xlr to 3.5mm to go straight into your computer microphone port. But this depends because some dynamic microphones can be very gain hungry so you'll just have to check if a certain microphone needs a mixer for that extra gain . If you plan on using a condenser microphone you might need a other mixer than the Behringer one in this video as the cheaper Behringer mixers don't deliver proper 48 volts phantom power that most condenser microphones need. This video is great but still do your research and make sure it fits your needs .

Been using voicemeeter for a while and it is great. The only thing is getting latency down, for me at least, I have never been able to get the latency down.

I keep getting issues with voicemeeter like my audio output becomes "robotic" after a few minutes to hours and I have to restart it and sometimes it last for awhile and sometimes it constantly messes up.

I would totally get the goxlr, however how would I use that with so many different outputs I have for streaming? All I have is my mic going into the PC, infact I have 2, and the second one is going in through a usb from the valve index. The rest is like, sammi, streamlabs, vtuber, shoutouts, the game, trigger fyre, etc. Would I need a 2 PC setup?

Xenyx 502 doesn't have great preamps which goXLR mini has. If you planing to use dynamic mic, like SM7b, only xenyx502 not gonna be enough. You also gonna need some mic booster for this, which would cost 50-100$
But for condenser mics or more sensetive dynamic mics, for example, XM8500 xenyx would be fine.
Also for 500$ i preffer go nerd way and straigh away buy behringer xr18. Lots of in/out digital with WDM supoport, comprehensive processing with compressor/gate/EQ, planty submix buses. It's just amazing!
It's funny how avalible options it narrowed to choose between behringer and behrineger (TC helicon was aquired by behringer)

voicemeeter seems great at first but the problem is with a 2 pc set up i had COUNTLESS issues, lots of times i would have it set up perfectly, then go live and something wouldnt work, mess with the settings for 20mins and eventually put all the settings back to how they were originally and it would magically start working. nightmare.

My favorite thing about Voicemeeter is when it becomes a system hog mid stream and my computer stops working. Also, love hitting restart audio engine 10 times a day.

I am currently still planning out my hardware / software needs for a business meeting round table with Zoom and in person. I am thinking 3 USB microphones and was planning on using OSB to mix and send out to Zoom. I need VERY LITTLE special effects or options since it is just voice. Will Voicemeeter have any benefits over OSB as a mixer? I just discovered your great channel today, Thank You !👍

The problem with Voicemeeter is the delay, which if you want to be competitive while streaming is huge draw back. A 5ms delay doesn’t sound bad until you die from footsteps in the past

I got a stream deck for Christmas and I'm trying to find a way to combine the sound input of my microphone and the Stream Deck so that I can play it on Discord. I tried voice meter but the sounds came out faded. I'm wondering if I did something wrong, and if not then I would like to know what the cheapest hardware alternative is. (both are usb inputs)

Would you be able to use an audio interface to get the computer to understand the XLR microphone and then use VoiceMeeter to mix the audio?
