I am now aware that Luz wasn’t saying “sí” but rather “see”. I heard it wrong, my bad! Thanks to all the people that pointed it out in the comments 🥺

That “¡Ay que lindo!” In my opinion, is the cutest phrase Luz has ever said on the show ^^

I like that there aren't subtitles when she speaks Spanish. It makes the language more a part of Luz's world and indirectly reinforces it as part of the audience's world, rather than something the audience isn't expected to understand. Like with good LGBT representation, the foreign language is just there, not something to gawk at.

I love how she speaks spanish, but also confusing for me because I don't know the english translation

Why do Americans think that for the simple fact of speaking Spanish we are Mexicans ??, it is as if we said that Australians and Americans are the same lol

now imagine Amity learning Spanish to impress Luz. Like imagine a scenario when Amity is looking for a book/scroll in the library (I know that they probably don’t even know about spanish on the boiling isles but perhaps amity is very desperate to impress luz and finds a way?) to learn Spanish and Luz catching her and thinking she’s just interested in the language and ends up helping her.

Hank Hill:"So are ya Mexican or Brazilian?"
Luz:"I'm Dominican."
Hank Hill:"...so are ya Mexican or Brazilian?"

I have to admit, this is better than many Latino characters I've seen in cartoons over the years. They're incorporating whole phrases that make sense and feel natural for the character and situation, instead of just dropping an spanish word in an unconvincing accent every now and then.

just for everyone:
"Luz" means "light" in Spanish which makes it so really cute when she says: "deja una >Luz< puesta para mi" leave a light on for me) and also when someone says: "eres la >luz< de mi vida" (you are the light of my life),
but that's just my fantasy of amity saying this...

Every time she speaks Spanish my heart gets so happy, the “she sounds like me” moment I get when she mixes the two languages and switches back and forth, the unpredictability of her accent, it feels so beautifully familiar every single time (, :
