It didn’t work to me too (like many others ways that I saw @ YouTube). So I restored all settings, then I went to WhatsApp and it showed an alert which said “WhatsApp would like to sent you push notifications” or something like that (my phone is in Spanish) and it worked, after that WhatsApp appears at my notifications again.
