Today's payday, and I get paid 3 times this month instead of two. So I decided to treat myself and I just purchased all of these for around $20-ish dollars each! Thank you, and please wish me luck!!!

Hey MS, you do a great job! You discuss topics and give advice on topics that no one else does. Great stuff!

4:30 I hate it when used book sellers erase pencil marks.
When past students have circled problems, I know, I KNOW that's gonna be a juicy problem.

hi :3 i just wanted to say thank you for your channel. all the way through high school i struggled with math. i passed all the required classes (barely) and eventually took up to calculus 2 in college before i dropped out due to some health problems. i passed calculus 2 with a 73. but the problem i found was that i was just memorizing formulas for tests and then forgetting everything after the final. but even as a little kid, i found numbers fascinating and i really loved hearing about all the cool things a person could do with math. my public school education led me to believe that i just “wasn’t smart enough” for math because i was very slow about learning everything and fell behind on the topics regularly. math was the only subject i truly struggled in in school and that was frustrating for me. so, two years ago, i decided to start over from the beginning and try to learn as much as i could, just on my own. i borrowed books from the library and bought a bunch of notebooks and went through every problem available to me. i am now up to calculus again and it makes so much more sense to me now that i built up my foundation. i now wake up every single day and say to myself “what can i learn today?” learning math on my own terms has been difficult but extremely rewarding. i have found that with a bit of patience and an open mind, learning math is possible. and since i started watching the videos on your channel, i feel even more inspired. thank you so much!

I never read Sheldon Ross' Intro to Probability but I read his Probability Models which was great for studying Markov Chains and their use in queuing and renewal theory.

Thanks a ton, Mr. Sorcerer.

I had already checked out a few of these books from your individual book reviews.

This list is really helpful in giving me an insight as to how I could approach learning Math by myself. Especially because it feels like one has to master a lot of calculus (1, 2, 3) before diving into other areas of Math. This always felt like a stumbling block as I couldn't dive into other areas of Math with my mind constantly nagging me to get back to calculus to have a better understanding of the other areas.

Now, I know that I could simultaneously tackle other topics, thanks to you. And a big shout out to that subscriber who requested for this video. This video gave me a much needed boost.

Keep up the good work, sir. May you keep lighting the path of the seekers wandering in darkness.

Thank you, once again :)

I'd like to see more videos similar to this one! It's interesting how you're exposing different branches of math...

Hands down, the Anton book is really good. It prepared me not just for Linear Algebra, but also Differential Equations (I AGREE that Chapter 4 of the book is 👌).

I am loving linear algebra, and it is a great expansion on the things I'm teaching in college algebra. I will check out these books once I find some free time, and once I buy a bigger bookshelf!

I SIMPLY LOVE YOUR CHANNEL!!! Shall you do a review of all the best books on discrete Math and computer science? I'd really appreciate it.

I'm a first year econometrics (undergrad) student, we don't cover calculus but went straight to real analysis. However, our math students do cover calculus and go to analysis at the end of the year. I loved math but I hate it now, real analysis is so damn hard if you don't have any college math experience..

Wow I always thought that calculus was pretty much the sole prerequisite for all of further math! This is pretty eye-opening, thanks for the video!

Great video. What combinatorics book do you personally like and recommend?

Halmos' Naive Set Theory is a bit terse for beginners. Set theory, many of the definitions require proper interpretation of their meaning in the sense of what it means in English beyond the clutter of various math symbols. Perhaps a proper beginner text in set theory with examples and exercises would be better.

Hello
Teacher please can you answer me this questio🤷🏻‍♂️

1. (score:20) Please give the definition of Probability of event A from the point of statistics and the point of Axiomatic
2.(score:15)IfP(A)=1/5, P(B)=1/4, and p(AB)=3/20, please calculate P(BA) and P(A U B)
3. (score:15)Please give the definition for continuous random variable
and give the explanation of the geometric meaning between distribution function and probability density function.
4. (score:15)Dating Problem : Romeo and Juliet have a date at and each
of them will arrive between time 12 o" clock and 13 o” clock, with all pairs of arrival being equally likely. The first to arrive will wait for 30 minutes and will leave if the other has not yet arrived. What is the probability that they will dating successfully?
5. (score:15)IFA and B are independent, please prove B and A are independent.
6. (score:15)IF Xis a discrete random variable with Probability mass
function as P(X=2)=0.4, P(X=1)=0.1,P(X=-1)=0.3, P(X=-3)=0.2, And denote the distribution of X as F(x), please calculate F(2.5), F(3.5) and E(X),Var(2X)
7 (score:20) suppose that X obey Normal distribution with parameter u= 60, o =20, please calculate P(X>80)
(Note: 中(1)=0.8413, where 中(x)is the standary normal distribution function take value at x)
