Anyone trying metal-filled filaments, use a HARDENED STEEL NOZZLE, stuff like this is really abrasive and will wear down your standard nozzle in a few prints. Other than that it’s fun stuff, you’ll be surprised how heavy it is and how much colder it feels (given the increased thermal mass and conductivity)

That is so cool. One of the things about 3d printing parts and tools is they don’t look real, they look funny, but that looks like a litteral rock carving

That quick drop of how the accelerated rust process works without over explaining it got ya my subscription.

I think we need to see a strength test comparison between multiple standard printing materials and this iron-filled filament. I need to know if it’s any stronger.

Marble machine with the gears made out of this and the rails made on stainless steel rods? Oh man, that would look so good

Could you make a video about metal plating this print/filament? The conductivity should make it possible?

A 60s style Hotrod car would look good printed with that and give it the rusted look !

I need to see you introducing it to increasing heat in steps.
As well as some tensile strength, bending and torsion tests

Oh, i think it’s nice, i will try it

To really get a good test for future purposes make bolts or hardware out of them and test the durability strength and resistance to heat

The matte finish looks way better than the layer lines on plastic pieces

Maybe printing a metal thing and using a cold bluing finish to protect the surface could be interesting

Tell me you designed your logo after Linus Tech tips without telling me you did

Oh thats gonna be so good for movie props

👍🏻 V nice! I recently replaced my car's water bottle cap with a printed replica, and it fits better than the original.
It would be interesting to see what other car parts can be printed - upholstery clips and other plastic parts of course, but using the metal filaments would require sensible choice of target parts to replicate plus some stress testing to ensure viability

Thank you random internet guy. You just solved one of my biggest problems with a production design I've been working on.

use oxygen water qnd vinegar for rusting iron easier

Let's clarify this a little, before someone destroys their nozzle: Any printer with a hardened steel nozzle can print this filament. Or a ruby tipped if you're fancy.

Can you do me a favor? Throw that cube in a 760 deg C** oven? 700 deg F** is the vaporization temperature of PLA and 1400°F is the annealing temp of iron. Id love to see if this fuses the layers even more so and thus making it stronger?? this would be cool

Thats really cool.
Try some vitamin E oil for those cuticles that crap hurts.
