Light Therapy can be very effective in dealing with depression or SAD, but there's more to it than just having "bright lights". At the very least, they should be full-spectrum and 2, 500 to 10, 000 lux. Use them every day, but only in the morning. Look towards but not directly at the lights for about 20-30 minutes. Consistency is essential. Effects can usually be felt in a few weeks.
