Honda Accord review - CarBuyer

Excellent build quality and an upmarket interior mean that the Honda Accord is now a worthy rival to established, executive German saloon cars like the BMW 3 Series and Audi A4. Honda has a long record of good reliability, and that hasn't changed with this generation of Accord.

I have the 2009, 2.4 L v-tech and I have driven 230000km (145000 miles) with it without ANY issues minor or big what so ever.
And for a 200+ horsepower engine fuel milage is surprisingly good.
I average 6.8 l/100 km.

Its 2021 and my 2012 Honda Euro Luxury Navigation in Australia still drives like the day I bought it. Reliability has been impeccable. That K24 i-vtec engine and double wishbone suspension are awesome and it makes me feel special every time I drive it. Imagine I bought a German car with all their reliability issues!

Hold your horses! Matt is just one opinion among millions, have a drive for yourself because thats the only way to find a car that suites you the best. I like the Accord very much and have a different opinion from Matt, he seems to be bad at learning new things (knows only VW controls on the dash?)? ;)

The good points (engine, gearbox, driving position, interior) he mentions are basically the same as the Accord always has been. It's interesting hearing him mention those things because I feel the same way about my first car, a 96 Accord. I'm glad to hear that those great traits on the latest models have been retained, so I'll definetly be considering owning one of these Accords in the future.

I just got my 08 Accord headlights cleaned and its still running strong with the coldest AC- even colder than my sister's newer Accord Hybrid.

To sort out any confusion, the US has a completely different Honda Accord than Europe. The US Accord is a larger midsize sedan, instead of the small sedan that it is in Europe. The European Honda Accord is actually an Acura TSX in the US. It is a more luxurious and higher tech version of the exact car shown in this review. Acura is to Honda what Lexus is to Toyota, or what Infiniti is to Nissan. A luxury branch of the same company. As far as I know, Acuras are only available in North America.

Great cars, smaller in boot and back seats than Mondeo or Passat, but who cares, infinitely better made, with far fewer visits to the garage. Zero corrosion issues and it really looks good and contemporary. The previous model is brilliant, too and both look bang up to date.

If you buy Japanese car go for petrol and buttons and knobs in this model are for people with IQ higher than 100 so no wonder why he finds them confusing

Beautiful, practical, and big enough saloon this Honda Accord, the front looks so much like Honda Odyssey (which should be reviewed)
