Thanks for the info! Had the blue charger for a while thought I’d check info on it. I’ve used the jump start feature many times and it does work. You might have to do it a couple times on a slightly low battery. For a dead battery you need to charge it first. It won’t work. At least it didn’t for me and I’ve tried many times.

Can this safely charge a Optima AGM Bluetop battery? I have the (old) Platinum DieHard Charger that I purchased at Sears many years ago. It has Battery Type- Standard, Deep Cycle, AGM/Gel and DieHard Platinum and Charge rate 2A Trickle, 15A Fast, 40A Rapid and 125A Engine Start.

Does the DieHard battery charger supposed to make a humming noise while it's being plugged in without it being hooked up to a battery?

I'm about to use the larger DieHard charger from your video (the blue one), the instructions tell me to connect the negative clamp to a "heavy, unpainted, metal part of the chassis or engine block"...can I do what you did in the video put both clamps on their corresponding battery terminals?

Do you need to take the cables off the battery to charge it? or just connect the cables and charge?  Thanks!
