I have a 2016 X584 with a 48" deck. It is hands down the best machine I have ever owned. I also have a snowblower and a plow to take care of winter problems. Turning with 4ws is awesome with the added length of the snowblower!

Nice video, Pumpy! Bought my X584 back in early 2017 and it's been an absolute pleasure to own and operate. I went with the 584 because my lawn has some steep slopes, and lots of obstacles to mow around. It takes a heavy-duty transmission for mowing hilly terrain long-term. Most of the cheaper JD's have "sealed-for-life", non-serviceable transmissions. The X584 uses the K72 transmission (405 ft-lbs torque!), which has a replaceable filter, and external reservoir for checking/topping-off fluid. Like you, I also opted for the 48" deck. Better for mowing sloped turf, and around obstacles. The 54" deck would be great for mowing large, flat areas in less time. I upgraded mine with the front brush guard (like yours), flip-up armrests, and LED tail lights. Haven't had a single problem so far. Awsome machine!

What made you buy one of these over a zero turn? Thing looks awesome.

How is this on steep slopes and rough ground? My back yard slopes to a common area and a section of that common area needs cutting and it's not graded to normal residential standards.

Really.. hate to be a jack@$$ but you honestly felt it necessary to wear a hard hat WITH a face guard that you didn't even use? Lol.. still, it's a really nice mower :p
