I'm an absolute newbie, and was at a Micro Center computer store yesterday in Long Island, NY, and they had shelves full of returned ASUS P867 boards, including the Pro version. Many were marked damaged - apparently after sale. A salesperson told me that people are returning them as defective. Most, if not all of the boxes were imprinted with the "P67 B3 Revision", which is the current version.

The salesperson suggested sticking with an X58 board, at least until the problems are worked out.

@nishchal, The case can take up to 10.5" Video cards. Anything larger will not fit.

@ryand0000 noo sata is backwards compatible which means a sata 2 hard drive can work on a sata 3 port and a sata 3 hard drive can work on a sata 2 port. As long as the hard drive is either sata 2 or sata 3 it can be used in any sata 2 or sata 3 port. And for usb you are right you can use either ports, but if you are using an item that is specifically made for usb 3 you would want to use a usb 3 port to take advantage of the increased speed however it can be used in a regular usb 2 port.

@JohanPredator front q connector, is for wireing your front power led light, hd light, power switch, reset switch, possibly enternal speaker not sure with this model. so very important with out you can not strat your pc from the front of the case.

I'm thinking of buying this board for an i5 2500K + GTX 560 Ti possibly SLi so i need 2 PCIE x16 ports

Just can't decide between MSi GD55 and ASUS P8P67 Pro. MSi is a fair bit cheaper but still has some unparalleled features that don't come on similarly priced boards, but i heard that the ASUS is better for gaming and overclocks best of $150-$200 boards. i will overclock all my components as high as possible with an H50 on the CPU

@EB3551 Its only a SATA 2 issue prior to Rev.3 boards. People have this Idea of distancing themselves from anything they consider defective. (Even if in reality it isn't) Its a technical hi end confidence breaker. Suddenly people think they don't have the best any longer. Revision 3 is the fix, Sounds like panic returns if you ask me.

@Mirmidon87 I would say no big difference. I think that $80 is for Front Panel USB 3.0, CMOS clear button and Power, Reset button and extra Ethernet port.
