As a woman and a single parent for a lot of years, I could not afford new things or people to fix my old ones, so I had to try to fix them myself. YouTube has been great for this. Your video is a case in point. I got up yesterday and the fridge was warm, but freezer okay. After watching the video I realized that I had food wedged up against the vents which had probably caused the ice up. I unplugged it, put the contents of the freezer into a cooler, and left the freezer door open to melt it, with a hose attached to the bottom drain. After a while, rather than mess with the cover, I took a hairdryer to the freezer vents to speed up melting. It worked great. I plugged the fridge back in and restocked and now it is working fine. Hot diggity dog! Single woman in my 60's. I can't tell you how many videos I've watched today to try to figure out why my freezer is freezing, but refrigerator section is not cooling. BINGO! I haven't done the job yet, it's late now, but I get the distinct feeling that by mid afternoon the next day my fridge issue will be resolved. TYVM!

I used to do apartment maintenance and did this same thing so many times. After 6 years in maintenance I was done. 50 to 60 hours a week doing literally almost everything as they never subcontracted anything out. We even did the remodels I said screw it. Now I work for myself doing hvac work and work a third of the time and make triple the money. Maintenance work is grunt work and your very unappreciated. I hope it's different for you and it looks like your making the best out of it by making these videos so good for you! I hope it works out good for you! Great video by the way! I took off the panel from the top freezer and i melted all of the ice on the coils with my mom hair dryer and i also melted the hole in the middle where the air passes through to the botton as there was alot of ice. It work perfect! Thanks man! You saved me alot of money! I was about t buy a new refrigerator. My old kenmore is 18 years old and is still running like a champ!

Lex, thank you so much for this video. I woke this morning to find my freezer working fine but my fridge was warm. I have a thermometer in there and it read 60° (it normally runs 35-38°.) This video was so specific and easy to understand, I don't feel as anxious. I now have a laid out plan of things to try, which could save me $$ for a service call.
