Isn't steam eruption just objectively better scald, making it the best water move?

If a dragon type other than dragapult wants to run dragon darts, theyre gonna have to grab some dreepy to chuck at the opponent lol

Trick room is the coldest take in this video after Protect. Saw it coming from a mile away

dragon ascent is pretty insane but no tailwind mention is surprising

I feel like the decision at the Game Freak office was "give Gigaton Hammer 160 BP and no recharge turn" or "give Tinkaton a good attack stat" and I'm glad they chose the funnier option.

Man, that Magikarp's nickname at 0:18 made me do a double take.

Gotta say clangorous soul on most dragon types would be a war crime cough cough Koridon

14:07 they been commenting since u put pollen puff over u turn lol

For pollen puff, don't forget, literally a bunch of Calyrex Shadow like to run it to hit dark types and the normal/psychic squad you can't hit with Astral barrage and the damage it does is surprising alongside obviously healing sometimes

11:57 I know this is a doubles-focused video, but as a singles-only player that only has a surface level understanding of the VGC metagame, hearing any move other than U-turn threw me for a loop. Much less a move I've never heard of before.

Something worth noting about sacred sword is that it also ignores defense drops. Painfully consistent

Maybe I'm wrong but the vibes I get from you are of someone who feels dirty doing a lot of the youtube algo shit like asking for likes and the subscribers vs actual viewers thing but do it anyway because it works and getting paid to talk about Pokemon is a pretty sweet job (from the outside anyway). And honestly if I'm right I respect that a lot lol, so many of youtubers sound so phony at best. At worse you get youtubers who sound like they're trying to guilt trip their audience which I imagine is particularly effective with younger viewers which Pokemon would obviously have a lot of. The honesty you give off is refreshing.

I don't know what spurred me to write this (probably that 'tism dawg in me) but keep up the good work.

The bug type is the worst type in the game, but they have some of these best moves in the game. Pollen puff, sticky web, tail glow, silk trap, first impression, u-turn, leech life (this one is debatable, but I felt like including it anyway), and quiver dance are among some of the best moves a polemon could learn.

I think collision course might be the best fighting type move. 100/100 with a secondary effect to nuke out incineroar is amazing. So many physical attackers that aren’t even fighting types could run as really strong coverage to beat the many fighting weak mons that exist.
Sacred sword is really consistent but having that extra 10 base power will probably matter more than defence boosts or evasion Strats especially since the 2 main defence boosting mons, zamzenta and stamina archaludon will take 33% more from Collision course.

I think should be a whole series, where you seperate out, best: Support, Physical attack, Special Attack, Mechanic/gimick. Because saying things like protect/trick room are the best move, though true, feels like the answer to a different question? Love you content, would totally watch subcategory versions of this!

I can’t believe tackle was the best normal move, I didn’t know how much utility it had!

Wicked Blow was probably the only one that I felt strongly against. I think without the ability Unseen Fist it's really not that broken on its own. The strongest Dark move ever was Dark Void of course, but we won't count that one anymore. Hyperspace Fury was never legal so we won't count that either. But I would argue that Knock Off, Parting Shot, Taunt, and Sucker Punch are all more impactful moves than Wicked Blow. Imagine if every pokemon could learn any one of those moves, I think very few of them would choose Wicked Blow.

I wanna make the case for Encore for best nomal type move.
Being able to either force a mon to switch or be shut down for several turns is really huge. And even the threat of it puts in work.

I'm not sure whether i like the idea to ignore some moves due to interacting with the meta in a certain specific way.

One could argue that stealth rocks is the best rock move, yet it only takes a rapid spin (or a rock resistance) to essentially negate it, plus it sees no use in vgc.

Same thing with toxic spikes.

Scald being nerf was a good move. But I do like the concept of dragon style, Kindra and Gyarados able to learn. The Slow twin being Psychic make sense and the green tea pokemon make sense.
