Interesting choice for Byleth.

As for the next character, it is Min Min, and I would go with Forward Smash. This move might not be that great in a vacuum, but on Min Min and all the mechanics she has that interacts with this move, it is absolutely insane. Great zoning, has three variations, great kill power, cheeses edge guarding. It's really good.

As a Byleth main, I'm incredibly torn between the two. Nair and fair are both _incredibly_ good and important for the overall character. Ultimately though, Byleth is more about walling out opponents and getting lots of good pokes at arm's length, so I think I'd agree with fair.

Nair is the best on paper, but fair is far more important.

It’s our most used kill move, combo ender, plus the reasons you mentioned.

The reason fair is better than bair is because outside of it being slightly faster and safer, you’re able to do fair out of a short hop and you don’t have to turn around where then nair becomes pretty much useless. Bair is auto cancellable only during full hop whereas fair auto cancels in both SH and FH.

Basically, Bair is a very good call out tool to get kills with or if you hit something like falling backwards nair -> bair at early % at ledge it puts them into an awful position, however you’d always prefer to use nair plus it can also kill stupid early with stuff like nair run off fair and is great for stage control.

As a Byleth main, though I use Bair more, Fair is indeed the better move for those reasons mentioned. I tend to use Fair more to zone against opponents while Bair is more as a way to escape close combat.

Byleth is one of my secondaries. B-Air is my choice for sure. There's not too many reasons not to spam it.

The big problem with fair however is that the arm that's thrusted forward is part of Byleth's hurtbox.

I wonder who is Rister's main best move. Min min has such broken moves like her smash attacks, sideways tilts and her sideways aerials, but tbh I'm gonna give it to forward air. While it can still be avoided, it can be used as a long range tool in the freaking air, and can still catch people off-guard. It can still be used just above the ground to be used as a sort of tilt.
