ICC says it has jurisdiction over potential war crimes by Israel, Hamas

The International Criminal Court has declared jurisdiction over potential war crimes carried out by Israel on the Gaza Strip and Hamas on Israel over the past week. Israel is not an ICC member, but Palestinian Territories fall under the court's jurisdiction. In 2021, the court ruled that territories occupied by Israel since 1967 -- including Gaza and the West Bank -- were within its jurisdiction.

The fact that no one went to prison for the biggest war-crime(Iraq$war) in the 21st century is depressing.

*UK🇬🇧 responsible in Palestine conflict. Balfour Declaration issued by UK (1917) during WW I, which announced support for establishment "national home for Jewish people" in Palestine. At that time, Palestine was teritory Ottoman Empire & Jews in Palestine were still a minority.*

It seems apparent that the U.N. and International Criminal Court need to expand their rules beyond "combatants" vs "non-combatants" to specify definitions, and acceptable evidence & treatment of "Human Shields" & enemy's "infrastructure".
