If you ever make meatpie with rice try to find instead of oregano marjoran. But keep the quantity limited. One teaspoon for a small pan or soup spoon for a large one. You will find it's aroma and taste superb. Thats how they make the meatpie on the Ionian Islands in Greece.

You could add some thyme, rosemary and garlic there too. But still a decent marinade.

What's the difference between a "marinade" and a "finishing marinade"? How about yogurt and garlic? Can I add those?

Don’t ever call a recipe Greek, if it has oregano that’s not Greek. To make anything Greek with oregano it must have Greek Oregano. Don’t embarrass us please 🇬🇷
