I didn’t read this part till after I did the DNA test

Ancestry -- Can you add the instruction about not eating/drinking beforehand to the main section, as one of the steps? The instruction is smaller font, in a different color, way up at the very top above the main steps. From reading the comments below, I'm clearly not the only one. It just means we'll have to wait 6-8 weeks to find out we have to re-test. Seems like a silly oversight that's easily fixable. Hoping you can pass this along. Thanks

I wish I saw the warning before I ate and sent in my sample.. You guys should use BIG LETTERS when it's warning cause I didn't see it until I sent in the sample.. 😑 I was so focused on where to spit and how to mix the fluid that I didn't see the warning on top that I not supposed to eat before.. Now I'm super pissed about it

If you read the instructions before doing the test, you'll be fine.

Reading the comments, I understand why we have bright warning labels on everything.

I did NOT see this warning label until after I sent it off. I’m Autistic and also ADHD. I need to slow down and really take my time reading things :( . Now I’m probably gonna have to pay another $100.00 to get another test if I messed my first one up. I drank Red Gatorade. Dumb me!! :(

I am still waiting for my test to arrive (it should deliver tomorrow to Ancestry's labs). Hypothetically, if I needed a re-test, how do I request one? Will it show in my account that I have no results and then I request from there?

What should I do if my spit gets foamy if I don’t drink water for 30 minutes? Will the bubbles set if I leave the tube in the fridge? How long can I leave the tube in the fridge?

I drank orange juice maybe 15 or 20 mins before I took the test . Will it still work ? Or did it ruin my results?

I accidentally drank soda before I took my test because I didn't see the warning until after I spit in the tube. What happens if it messes up my results?

I too saw the instructions about not eating before the test after spitting into the tube. Is it OK to use Distilled water to rinse it out?

I didn’t consume anything 30 mins before my test but as I did the saliva I seen a little bit of food from my tooth land in it. Am I gonna have to re do it?

I misread the instructions, because I waited thirty to forty minutes after I ate and drank to spit in the tube and get my results. Would I be able to take the test over without spending extra money?
