DIY Homemade Cheerios

On a mission to remove as much over processed foods as I can from our diet and working hard to keep my toddler starting off his life on a healthy diet. Check out my cheerios recipe and try out removing over processed foods from your house.

Homemade Cheerios Recipe
1 1/2 cup oat flour1/2 cup whole wheat or all-purpose flour1 tablespoon sugar1 teaspoon baking powder1/4 teaspoon salt1 egg, beaten1/4 cup milk3 tablespoons melted butter 1 teaspoon vanilla

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Combine flours, sugar, baking powder and salt. Set aside. In a large measuring cup, whisk together beaten egg, milk, butter or oil and vanilla. Mix into dry ingredients until incorporated.
3. Using your index finger and thumb shape small pieces of dough into disks about 1/8 – 1/4 inch thick. Set on lined baking sheet.
4. Bake until cooked through, 5-10 minutes. 
5. Enjoy! I store in a large mason jar to keep fresh for longer.

it’s a worse Cheerios but without all the vitamins and minerals that actually make them healthy for small children? Sure.

I’m sorry but. What processed ingredients. Cheerios’ ingredient list is the shortest thing I’ve ever seen. The only additives are the literal inclusion of vitamins and minerals. There’s some things that can be made homemade but guys. just reap the benefits of this product as is.

Yeah bad idea. There are lots of processed foods you should cut out of your diet for health but Cheerios is not one of them. You are not getting any real benefit by this. It's beat to learn how to do, but it's like adding exercise by doing one jumping jack every week. Sure it's something but negligible at best

Get them on oats. Cereal isn’t the best option for food anyways. If you’re so focused on health, change the option entirely.

Yes! Keep doing what’s best mama. People that have no clue what they’re saying are the only ones hating. Let them buy the Cheerios! I wish I was at that age how I am now. Only home made for my big kids!

This works great with oatmeal & raisins. Kinda like oatmeal cookies but little bites. Keep it up girl dont let haters hate.

You havent realized tho that all crops have been genetically modified so I mean define “processed” if everything we eat goes thru a process to end up on your table 😂 That flours processed
