Cedar Point just announced Siren's Curse, which opens in 2025 as North America's tallest, fastest, and longest tilt coaster! The ride looks phenomenal, but it's all really weird and not like the rides Cedar Point would normally add!

Since Ryan won't do the block zone definition

For those of you who are unfamiliar, a block zone is a section of ride that only one train may occupy. At the end of a block zone is a method to stop the train in case the block zone ahead is still occupied. This is the safety system that prevents roller coaster trains from colliding with one another.

I understood everything up until 7:45 then it didn't make sense anymore.

How will I ever understand Block Zones without a definition?

Man, I really wish I knew what a block zone was! You pointed at part of the track, but idk what a block zone is lol

For starters, they could theme with that pirate boat facade in front of Maverick. Have it tilted up on a few big rocks like it was "lured to it's fate" along with some netting and the rest of the pirate ride props.

I’m not the first person to say this, but a GCI on the old Snake River Falls plot would be PERFECT. It probably won’t happen, but I can dream.

I think it’s important to remember Cedar Point is the most seasonally visited park in the world and sees more attendants than most year round parks. With TT2 being a flop they need something to keep pass sales up and to make up for the massive loss.

I kinda feel like the reason they decided to add this to CP over any other smaller Six Flags or Legacy CF parks has less to due with the TT2 situation and more to due with the speed of installation and infrastructure. They probably had very little time to make a decision with Vekoma to make this happen and CP was probably the only park in the chain with the resources and infrastructure to make this all happen in the window they had.

I’m really glad Kings Island didn’t get this ride. Kings Island and Vortex deserve to have a custom built ride for that plot of land

It looks cool, but I agree there were so many other parks that needed this ride, and with Cedar Point's immense coaster lineup I think the wiser option would have been to FINALLY add a dark ride to the park.

If the onboard audio had sounds of the track breaking with some jirations at the tilt, that would be on another level of terrifying! People would have to wear Depends to ride it!😂

Quite fitting to name the ride cursed considering it’s alleged issues at two separate parks from ever going vertical. Welcome to the states. Thank you Sandusky for the prompt approvals.

It could be a shipping thing. Cedar Point is near a port with ocean access. It has to come from Mexico to the USA. El Toro Ryan's home park makes since also, but who knows for sure right now. It will be a great 'did you know' when we are older.

This reflects how Cedar Point used to be. A new thrill ride every year or every other year.

Also, Cedar Point gets so many guest it needs this ride.

At the rate they’ve removed more rides than they have added.

It feels weird without it, but I understand why with this video not being as much main content that would require it. However since there was some talks about it I would still think the block zone explanation is always welcome.

Interesting that it's not going in the plot occupied by Snake River Falls. I was almost certain when they released the teaser, with the theming that it was going there over the water. That part of the park absolutely needs more development, way too much dead space between Millenium and Maverick.

Maybe they're saving that plot for something bigger down the road.

This roller coaster is exactly the same as the example coaster model that Vekoma has on their website for this coaster type: so even if this isn’t Energylandias tilt coaster: it’s still a pre designed layout that wasn’t designed for Cedar point. Six flags Mexico was probably looking for a cheap Vekoma to celebrate the parks anniversary, just like what Great adventure tried to do with vertical velocity, and once the plan fell through they shipped it up to Cedar point!

Besides the fact it has the same thing as Valravn where it holds you straight down over the drop and it is placed right next to it, I think it will be different enough besides that to not feel to simular. Also if you look at it, it's not a 90 degree drop, it's more like 85 degrees.

I thought hearing the block zone definition every time was annoying, until it was gone
