Replicating table data from an SAP ECC system with SAP Datasphere using Replication Flows

In this video, I'll be going thru the step to enable initial loading an SAP ECC table to SAP Datasphere using the new feature of Replication Flows. This is pretty straightforward for newer S/4HANA systems which allow you to quickly replicate data from S/4HANA with CDS (Core Data Services), giving you all the business context of your data and without the need replicating all your tables and having to remodel your data.

But, in case of an SAP ECC system, these are the different steps needed for replicating your tables.

Please note that to do so, you will have to have the prerequisite of the SAP ECC system (ECC6 EHP8) and DMIS 2018 SP06 / DMIS 2020 SP03 or higher. You will also need to install and configure the SAP Cloud Connector on your On Prem network.

EDIT (21/08/2023) : Contrary to what I say in the video and as noted by a reader in the comments, the SAP Analytics Cloud Agent and SAP Java Connector are not needed for this specific use case of SAP Datasphere replication flows. You can skip these steps also in the SAP Cloud Connector Configuration and you don't need to specify and enable the Agent in On-Premise Data Source configuration on the SAP Datasphere Administration.

Hello Raphael, As you mention that Replications flows in SAP Datasphere allow to replicate the Objects from ODP providers, such as extractors or SAP BW artifacts. Our current as is ECC -BW and future solution will be S4 On cloud - Data Sphere . Can we use the replication flow to use all the SAPI Data sources to fetch data from S4 to DataSphere ? If yes that it will make our life easier as we do not want table replication

Hi Raphael, As you shown to fetch data from tables, is it possible to access SAP Standard data sources too ( like BW Data sources) from ECC ?

Hello Sir. We have one ECC system. We want to extract data data from ECC into SAP datasphere. Is it possible to do live replication without BW bridge. I mean source is ECC system and target is Datasphere. Is it possible.

Good Demo. I would wait for Below questions to be answered as they are vital. Waiting to hear from author and want to ask if data from S4 HANA & ECC can extracted in parallel as only one DP agent can be used.
