Your video brought back to mind the evening I met with two elders to discuss my viewing of the Australian Commission and thus my disassociation from Jehovah's Witnesses. One of the elders is really a nice individual and I was good friends (or so I thought) with he and his wife. He had a daughter and I asked him how he would feel if someone molested his daughter and was being protected by the policies of the organization. I will never forget his answer "The elders know who these individuals are and we keep a close watch on them in the congregation" I then said, "who is keeping a close watch on them outside the congregation". There was a blank stare and I simply said, "we're done here"

So thrilled! I unfortunately married a “brother” who became a ministerial servant and molested many girls over the years. The elders forbade anyone from going to police (since of course they were not believed & there weren’t two witnesses to the crime.)

Thankfully they did anyway and he served 8 year in prison. Sadly he proclaimed his innocence and was never even disfellowshipped! He was welcomed back by the organization and it sickens me that vulnerable kids are at risk of him preying again. This is such a victory and I hope the USA will see similar. Thank you for shedding light on the darkness of Watchtower and how it protects pedophiles.

The Jehovah's witness organization already responded and are not willing to take many of the recommendations and politicians are appalled by the reaction of the JW organization.
It makes me angry and sad at the same time that the JW organization is so hardheaded in their ways. The report recommendations are super reasonable.

The elders are NOT educated in how these horrible abuses harm children. They reject any suggestions that the elder body needs to be trained by qualified professionals with expertise in these matters. In all my 16 years of being a Witless, pun intended, I only knew of one educated elder, a school teacher.

It’s going to be very interesting to see if this arrogant religion will agree to the recommendations of the court. My prediction is that they will not, but I think the pressure is mounting up on all sides and they must realize they are in contempt of common decency if they continue to believe they are above the law!
