Before the “talkies,” movies had scores, not sound (important distinction). But then a little picture called The Jazz Singer made a killing at the box office...and the rest is cinema history! A little less than a century later, and we can see how sound changed film as both a technology and an art form, forever. This video takes us back to when movie sound, a facet of filmmaking that we now take totally for granted, was nothing short of revolutionary.

I still love silent films ( I know is odd that I said this in a video about sound in cinema, but... yeah I still like silent films)
