In this video, we look at the hand print and following through straight and how to fox it. part 2

My channel is exclusive to darts only content. I create my content as I simply love to play darts and want to help other dart players improve with my own channel.

All my video's are based on how to play darts as well as advise on equipment and general darts setup with the aim to guide any new players in their darting journey as well as provide more experienced or even professional dart players with dart content to help improve.

I throw around an 80 average myself with my left hand due to injury and dartitis in my right arm.

I may, on occasion, use footage from the Professional darts corporation (the P.D.C) as well as The British Darts organisation, WDF and Modus. These are used under fair use legislation, and all credit should be given to the rightful creators

WOW i used to always talk about this after practicing so much noticing what helped me. i'd always tell myself "palm too (the board)" and noticing when i had my fingers placed so the space between them would basically be straight up. thanks for helping me see it in the light

Wow. This is GOLD. Love your explanation. Normally I so often start with a "1" - A little more open hand make me hit the "20" much easier 🙂

Great video Daniel. This is a subject very close to my heart.

As you know I’ve had a nightmare trying to keep my hand straight on drawback. I can do it just fine without a dart in my hand, but as soon as I have a dart in hand the twist is back.

I’ve noticed that at the beginning of a throwing session my action is much better, and gets worse the more I throw.

I’m hoping it’ll all click one day.

Keep up the good work. Love watching your videos mate.

Another fantastic video. This is exactly what I’ve been attempting to work on for a while now. The fingers are really the only thing that touches the darts and it’s so difficult to get that dart to leave even. Great watch, thanks Dan 👏🏻🎯

Great follow-up to your last video... this is one of those little things that makes a big difference to your game

A NOTE TO ALL: instead of keep switching darts. Use the money for a throwing analysis by daniel . You will not regret it

Great knowledge. I’m constantly pushing my darts over to the left. Think I need some coaching.

hey mate, this is great advice. I come from a basketball background and was throwing with a closed grip. I have started to open my grip as the release and finish seems more second nature (like shooting a basketball) so I am going to stick with that. Never thrown a 180 but just threw 3 trip 5s...time to work on alignment haha

Here's a story about tendonitis and handprints.
Two months ago I have won my first tournament with a brand new dart, I had to adjust my grip a bit, but it worked really well. After a couple of weeks, my wrist started to hurt after every throw; I had the same handprint as Dan. What seems to be working now is that I closed up my grip, and I force my handprint to be less twisted, this way I'm not using my wrist as much.

Enjoying the content bro I couldn't explain my grip even if I tried it's so weird I dunno why I am so accurate, I've tried slowing it down and having someone look at my action as I release and even that was puzzling hahaha but it works so can't complain lol but what I will say is at times I've woke up after a long day practice and I've gone to throw and my mind has played tricks with me and I've forgotten how to hold the dart and release the same way I have previous so I have to completely change my throw everything it's so weird luckily this hasn't happened in a few months now but I know it will eventually lol I wish I didn't have that but it must work because as you know I'm the first para darts european champion lol

Thanks for this, something which I had not considered.

Just struggle recently with my darts, overthinking/changing things too much, would you ever recommend taking a brief period (a week or so) off from practicing?

I'm new to darts, and I'm struggling following through tbh, i think I need to train my arm up also, as it can get uncomfortable.
Thanks for all your advice, maybe after 12 months I'll be a much better "pub" player.😅

I'll sure keep that in the back of my head when I'm at the board in a few minutes. What's your opinion on using smooth barrels in practice to clean up the throw?

A question for you Dan…

If a player changes their grip from a closed position to an open position, is this likely to alter their alignment?
