Thaddeus likely inhaled FEV and is now a mutant. FEV has such a major impact in the games, to the point that the show likely wont skip it. It was what the Master used in Fallout 1, what the Enclave tried to use to "cleanse" humanity in Fallout 2 and 3, and even had a small part in Fallout 4.

I'd say it's the mysterious serum from Fallout 4 that comes from the Cabots. Let a family live for like 400 years, not as ghouls but humans with amazing regenerative abilities.

Dr. Virgil in Fallout 4 already came up with a cure for the FEV. It completely reverted him back to human form in a matter of a week or two. So the idea of a cure for ghoulism and FEV is already possible.

That "chem that turns you into a ghoul" that the squire took may also be that rare chem Hancock from FO4 took to become a ghoul.

Unless it was an accidental find I don't believe either the enclave Or Is vault Tech would purposely make it. They're both just too evil.

Pretty sure they said they were taking radaway didn't they? At least maybe that's just what my brain told me or filled into the blanks, because it makes sense. More radiation over time would make them go from being a ghoul to being feral, so radaway stops the process by helping regulate the radiation they intake.

Its Fallout, I wont be surprised a cure for ghoul exist... but that item is a special item onr and only only for that very interesting side quest.
