A few years ago my finger was cut to the bone due to a legal knife closing unexpectantly while stripping the packaging off of a palet of goods. The idiots that make the laws would be pleased about that but I was not!

England's new coat of (dis)arms: crossed butterknives in rainbow field, supported by a neutered lion and a gay unicorn.

Thanks for the video. Sorry if it's been asked before but why no Opinels? Opinel No.2 - 5 aren't locking and are UK legal.

Criminals don't care what's banned. Laws affect law abiding people so nothings achieved .

I live in the UK.
My fingers and I still prefer the security of a locking blade.
Im currently recovering from an incident where a fortunately blunt folding artical was given to me to use and it folded on my fingers during use. It didnt cut anything drastic but the cut skin is enough to keep me off work until its healed.

The sharpened length of blade in a knife CAN be made up from multiple blades such as in a Swiss Army knife.
Single blade is safest option is best.
Spiderco slipit folder by Bob Terzuola is the best U.K. legal carry.

Just found this video a bit late tbh, I understand why people are so nervous over here and therefore only carry slipjoint knives. Personally I ignore the knife laws and carry a rat 2 for edc and a spyderco paramilitary for defensive purposes. There are two reasons I choose to do this, 1 I would rather see the inside of a prison than have no options in a hostile situation. Until recently I live in an area with really high violent crime rates and was myself a victim in my teenage years. The second reason is even more simple tbh, with stop and search laws abolished the police cannot even request a search without justifiable reason, therefore if you are acting in a socially acceptable way you will not be asked for a search in the first place. What the public fail to realise is that the police themselves are for the most part completely ignorant of the knife laws and may arrest you for carrying even a victorinox cadet or the likes. Also our laws include any sharp or pointed object or any item which can be utilised as a weapon such as a pen without good reason for having it or for example your car keys if you are in the pub drinking as technically you dont need them if over the legal limit.
The laws that govern this country are ridiculous at best, there are entire communities where I used to live that the police wont enter unless they have no choice, crimes in these areas rarely see the inside of a courtroom due to the entire community supporting the local criminals. I have seen this with my own eyes even where firearms and knives have been found, the police just keep it quiet to avoid more trouble. When there is a significant change in the attitude of the police and counsels I may follow the law untill then, mine and my families safety takes precedent im afraid

In Indiana you can carry about any knives you want.Along with your handgun.

Just remember that ‘legal carry’ is also dependant on where you are (ie school grounds) and concealment (inside jacket pocket)

I carry a victorinox explorer. Fantastic knife and the magnifying glass comes in handy. Also have a original Champ that was my dads. The one before the split ring. Also fantastic but stays at home. Don’t want to lose it due to sentimental value.

Just a note on the Swiss Card. Apparently although the blade itself is a fixed blade, most police view it as a tool, and treat it as such, meaning they won't be too bothered by it, and should let you go. (obvious disclaimer, if you have any doubts, it's best not to carry it)

For many years I have carried an Opinel folding knife with a blade of just under 3". However, this knife does have a ferrule which when turned allows the blade to be locked either open or closed. Is this knife now considered illegal? They are readily available in all sports and camping shops. At 74 years of age I not likely to be mistaken for a Teddy Boy or whatever they have now.

I lived in the UK for almost a year and was able to carry and have locking folders shipped to me. However when I was out and about I’d carry a non locking knife. Just be smart about it.

just ordered a quartermaster Hennie Haynes collaboration, cant wait! I have a ukpk, I like the blade but the handle is sooo cheap, it flexes a fair bit in the hand, thanks for the video nice to see someone enthusiastic about UK blades.
