Although we joke about not playing this song in the Navy, it was almost used as a recruitment tool for the US Navy, but ultimately was not used.

I remember one of the PT instructors playing the original during early morning PT when I was in navy recruit school. Doing push ups to this was one of the most exhilarating and horrifying experiences of my life! Not only that but we were forced to sing along or risk more push ups.
